The Laura’s Star series is not as well known as it deserves to be. The first book is Laura’s Star about a little girl who finds an injured falling star which then becomes her friend.  Some of the books are primarily picture books although the stories are longer than many picture books and the later books have been published as early chapter books complete with colour illustrations on every page and a pretty bookmark.  The illustrations are beautiful with the silver embossed star featuring on many pages and the stories are just right for little girls especially covering a first sleepover, a new teacher and worrying about upsetting a friend. Both my daughters enjoyed listening to these stories and my elder daughter loves being able to read them to herself.
